Valve has dropped a fresh Counter-Strike 2 update, bringing new charms, stickers, and significant gameplay tweaks, while also making adjustments to the active map pool. The patch touches nearly every aspect of CS2 — from cosmetic collections to spectator tools — and will have an immediate impact on both casual and competitive play.

This update adds a wave of new cosmetic collections, with a spotlight on community-created content:
- Missing Link Community Charms: 23 charms designed by Workshop artists.
- Dr. Boom Charms: 22 brand-new charms.
- 2025 Community Stickers: 29 stickers from community creators.
- Sugarface 2 Stickers: 9 themed stickers expanding the popular Sugarface set.
At the same time, the Gallery Case, Graphic Collection, and Character Craft stickers have been removed from The Armory, cycling the cosmetic ecosystem forward.
Gameplay Changes

Several gameplay mechanics received fine-tuning:
- Scoreboard Tracking: Deaths now increment when players die to a C4 bomb detonation.
- Zeus-x27: Limited kill streak bonus in Deathmatch.
- Sniper Adjustments: Added inaccuracy representation directly in sniper scopes for better feedback.
- Audio Adjustments: Keychains will now jolt slightly whenever a player makes an audible footstep, adding subtle realism.
Spectating Upgrades

Valve continues to refine CS2’s spectator tools:
- New camera transitions on select maps ensure smoother movements between targets, following the shortest path through the level.
- Spectated player loadouts auto-close at match end.
- Gloves in spectator view now display wear and pattern, bringing more cosmetic detail to broadcasts and demos.
Map Pool Adjustments

The map rotation received notable changes, affecting both major and side modes:
- Removed: Jura, Grail, Dogtown, and Brewery are no longer available in any mode.
- Added:
- Palacio and Golden join Competitive, Casual, and Deathmatch.
- Rooftop and Transit join Wingman mode.
Meanwhile, Ancient and Shoots received clipping fixes to smooth player movement.
Miscellaneous Fixes
- Adjustments to MAC-10 and R8 Revolver skins.
- Fixed a crash related to missing bullet impact effects.
- Workshop Tools: Added new deformers (lattice and simple bend) for Hammer, and re-enabled example content in train_zoo.
Map Scripting Enhancements
Developers also benefit from scripting upgrades:
- Improved error handling with clearer exceptions and fallback values.
- Better performance when handling Vector, QAngle, and Color values.
- Color arguments now clamp rgba values to 255.
- New overload methods accept objects with grouped parameters, while older overloads are deprecated.

What This Means for Players
This patch is a mix of content refresh and competitive reshaping. The addition of Palacio and Golden into the competitive pool will demand new strategies, while the removal of familiar community maps may shake up casual players. The sniper scope adjustments and spectator upgrades also suggest Valve is listening closely to both competitive and viewer feedback.
As 2025 gets underway, CS2 continues to evolve — and this update shows Valve’s commitment to combining community creativity with gameplay refinement.
